Painter who was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and educated at the High School there. She studied at the Royal Female School of Art and Westminster School of Art. In 1895 one of her watercolours, a still life, was bought by Queen Victoria. Mayor often exhibited flower and still life pictures at Goupil Gallery, RA, RI, RBA, SWA and elsewhere. She met her husband, the painter Fred Mayor, while she was a member of the Staithes group – with Laura and Harold Knight – and they married in 1902. They settled in Montreuil-sur-Mer, in northern France, spending summer months at Cassis, in the south, only returning to England when their eldest child was of school age. Lived at Whitchurch, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Fred died during an operation in 1916.
