Painter and teacher, born in Brooklands, Cheshire. He was educated in Devon and studied art there at Exeter College of Art, 1947–51 and 1953–5, going on to become art master at Colyton Grammar School for many years. He showed at Roland, Browse and Delbanco, at several British universities, in America and was given a retrospective show at the University of Exeter in 1963–4. Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery holds his work. Lived in Exeter.
