Sculptor of figures, birds and animals whose quirky Man and Fish was included in the Thompson’s Marylebone The Sculpture Show, 2003. Marvell said: “When starting a sculpture, I am never quite sure how it will end up. I always do lots of drawings and maquettes working through to the final big sculpture, modelled in plaster and then cast into bronze…. I have had the most useful help in studio working methods from George and David, my village builder, old friends and in the physical, hardworking atmosphere of the bronze foundry.” Marvell’s works were in private and public locations in Europe and America.
