Painter employing a subtle colour range who had a strong interest in sea- and shore-based pictures. They often featured industrial relics and sometimes had a Surrealist tinge. Although she settled in London, visits to her family home on Scotland’s west coast remained an inspiration. Macpherson studied at St Martin’s School of Art and Camberwell College of Art and became a professional artist in the late 1970s. Her first major show was at Richmond Gallery, 1989, further exhibitions including Portland Gallery, from 1994. Several corporate collections held her work.
