Figurative painter and teacher, born in Luton, Bedfordshire. She studied at the School of Art there, 1970–1; Loughborough College of Art and Design, 1971–4; and Royal Academy Schools, 1975–8, then gained a junior fellowship in Cardiff in 1979. Taught at the School of Art from that year in Falmouth, Cornwall, where she lived with the artist Joe Coates. Was a member of Newlyn Society of Artists. Group shows included John Player Portrait Award, 1984; TSWA 1984, where she was a prizewinner; A Century of Art in Cornwall 1889–1989, Newlyn Orion Galleries; and John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1995–6, prizewinner with her sensitive oil on canvas Big World, Small World. Had a first solo show at New Grafton Gallery in 1980, later ones including Paton Gallery, 1995.
