Sculptor, painter and draughtsman, born in Berlin, Germany, who studied sculpture at the Vereinigte Staatsschule am Steinplatz there. She was so highly thought of that she merited her own studio. Exhibited work at the Staatliche Akademie der Künste. She won the Prix de Rome but was unable to take it up because of the political situation. Although by 1939 Liebert-Mahrenholz was an established sculptor in Germany she decided to emigrate to England, where for many years she worked as a china restorer. She began to concentrate on painting and drawing, working independently and at the Camden Institute in London, where she had settled. Showed at RA. Other exhibitions included Woodstock Gallery, 1958; German Embassy, 1978; major retrospective at Camden Arts Centre, 1983; and Ben Uri Art Society, which holds examples, 1988.
