Landscape Sketch c.1890s–1930s

Joseph Johnston Lee (1876–1949)

University of Dundee Fine Art Collections

Painter and illustrator who attended Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, then the Slade School of Fine Art under Henry Tonks and Walter Westley Russell. Work done during World War I was officially purchased and he published a number of books with war themes, such as Ballads of Battle and Captive at Carlsruhe. Lived in Dundee, Angus.
