Painter in watercolour, oil and mixed media, born in London. He studied at Maidstone College of Art, 1949–52, concentrating on graphic design. Knapp-Fisher then designed in the theatre and painted and exhibited from a sea-going home for five years. He moved to Wales in 1965, settling in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, opening a studio/gallery in 1967. As Trevigan Gallery he published postcards and limited edition reproduction prints of his paintings. Knapp-Fisher’s subjects were landscape, seascape, buildings, boats, figures, animals and fish. He aimed “to produce pictures that are exciting, have strong compositional form and powerful visual imagery”. Showed at many venues, including RA, Agnew, the Marjorie Parr, Upper Grosvenor, Bankside and Business Art Galleries, RWA, WAC, Beaux Arts in Bath and elsewhere.
