Painter, born in London, notably of figure studies, sexually explicit and using a light palette, who attended Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1987–8; Glasgow School of Art, 1988–91; and Royal College of Art, 1992–4. She gained a Haldane Trust Travelling Scholarship, NatWest 90s Prize for Art and John Kinross Travelling Scholarship, all in 1991; a TI Bursary, 1992–4; Paris Studio Award, 1993; and Delfina Studios Award, 1994–6. Group exhibitions included 369 Gallery Group Show, Edinburgh, and the first of a string of appearances at National Portrait Gallery, both 1991; Whitworth Young Contemporaries, Manchester, 1993; Into the Nineties at Mall Galleries and Group Show at Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, both 1994; and John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 2002.
