Painter, printmaker and theatrical designer, born in Innsbruck, Austria. He studied there, in Vienna and for several years with Franz von Stuck at Munich Academy, also having private tuition with Egger Lienz. Gurschner showed extensively between the wars at Cooling Gallery, had his first solo show at Fine Art Society in 1929, also exhibiting widely on the continent and in America. He lived in England from 1932, serving in the British Army in World War II, becoming a British subject in 1946. Designed for a number of stage plays. Tate Gallery holds his work.
