Painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Manchester of Armenian parents. While studying at Manchester Regional College of Art met her future husband, the artist Ian Grant, who was teaching there. She went on to teach art at grammar schools in Manchester and Stockport, Cheshire, where she settled. Gumuchian was a member of MAFA, also showing at RBA, with Northern Young Artists and widely in the north of England. In 1988 she was the outright winner in the northwest Laing Competition. Salford Art Gallery holds her work.
