Painter of figurative work, sometimes with a quirky viewpoint, as in her solo exhibition at The Gallery in Cork Street, 1999. From Edinburgh College of Art she gained a first-class honours degree in painting, 1992–6, her master’s, 1996–8. She won a Department for Education and Employment Bursary, 1996; and in 1997 and 1998 Andrew Grant Bequest Scholarships. Group shows included Witnesses of Existence, Demarco European Art Foundation, 1994–5; The New Generation, Compass Gallery, Glasgow, 1997; Hunting Art Prizes, from 1998; Laughing Matters, Your Shout Awards, Winchester, and tour, 2003; and Blind Art, Royal College of Art, 2005. Among Green’s solo exhibitions were Royal Brompton Hospital and Vinyl Factory, both 2003. Green was still at art college when she began to paint commissioned portraits.
