Painter and teacher, born at Moira, County Down, Northern Ireland. He studied in his spare time at Birkenhead’s Laird School of Art while working in the Port Sunlight soap factory and in Belfast attended the School of Design. From 1901 through World War II Gordon taught art at Royal Belfast Academical Institution, also teaching evening classes. He was a founder-member of Ulster Arts Club and showed at RHA in Dublin. Arts Council of Northern Ireland holds his work.
