Painter, stage designer, teacher and decorator, born in Leeds, married to the artist Raymond Coxon. She studied at Leeds College of Art and Royal College of Art, 1920–4. In the latter year a West Riding Travelling Scholarship took her to several countries on the continent. Taught at Chelsea School of Art. Showed in group exhibitions at LG of which she was a member, Cooling and Leicester Galleries, had her first solo show at Zwemmer Gallery in 1932 and in the early 1930s did décor for Camargo Ballet. Was an ambulance driver in World War II. Retrospective show at Bradford in 1956 and shared an exhibition with her husband at Parkin Gallery, 1985. Represented in Tate Gallery and lived in London. Died in Rowfant, Sussex, where Gin, as she was known, and her husband had owned a studio for over 60 years.
