Painter of highly coloured still lifes and landscapes, who studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1972–5, gaining a diploma in drawing and painting from Edinburgh College of Art, 1975–6. After being a designer with the Royal Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh, 1979–86, began to paint full-time. Was a finalist in Morrison Portrait Competition, RSA, 1991, and Laing Landscape Competition, Mall Galleries, 1992, also showing at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, RWS and SSWA, as well as many private galleries. Shared a show with Geri Morgan at Duncan Campbell Contemporary Art, 1998, with solos there from 2000. City of Edinburgh, corporate and private collections hold examples.
