Painter of works tending towards abstraction, born in Scotland, who gained an honours degree in fine art from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, and her postgraduate diploma master’s there, 1998–9. Awards included the RSA Carnegie Travelling Scholarship, 1998; David Gordon Memorial Trust Art Prize, 1998 and 1999; and RSA Latimer Award and Miller Homes Prize, Paris Studio, runner-up, both 1999. Among her mixed exhibitions were the RSA Annual Exhibition, from 1998, and Fertile, Duff House Country House Gallery, Banff, 1999. In 1999 Gallie shared an exhibition at the Jill George Gallery. Commissions included two paintings from Bali, Indonesia, Jim Bothwell, Vital Spark Gallery, Aberdeen, 1998.
