Oil and watercolour painter, wood engraver and printmaker. Studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, 1917–21, under James Grant, Bernard Meninsky and Noel Rooke. Married to the artist Elsie Farleigh. Exhibited LG, Leicester and Redfern Galleries, RE, RSA and in the provinces. He taught at Rugby School, 1922–4, then joining the Central School staff as head of the book production department. Published several books, including his autobiography Graven Image, 1940. 20th Century Gallery showed Farleigh’s wood engravings in 1997. Lived in London.
