Artist and teacher whose work included Minimalist landscapes and abstract work in a muted palette, born in Berkshire. He gained a Bachelor of Science honours degree from Goldsmiths’ College, 1976–7; an honours degree in art history from London University, 1981–4; with a postgraduate art teacher’s certificate from Goldsmiths’ in 1988. Held extensive lecturing posts from 1984, latterly including Swindon and Chelsea Colleges of Art and Coventry University. Group shows included Whitechapel Open, 1989, and POSK Gallery, 1992. Among his later solo shows were Bird & Davis, 1995, Original Gallery, 1998, and Hart Gallery, 2000–1. In 1998 he founded Conductor, a co-operative group of painters and composers.
