Painter, born in Forfar, who studied at Edinburgh College of Art, 1975–7, and 1989–91, gaining an honours degree in drawing and painting; did postgraduate studies, 1991–2; then her Master of Fine Art Painting degree, 1992–3. In 1991 she won the Angus Award for Landscape and was commended in the Borders Biennial and in 1993 gained the John Florent Stone Scholarship. Was granted an Ettrick & Lauderdale Museum Service commission, Written on the Rock, 1995, and was elected professional member of SSA, 1997. Showed with Flying Colours Gallery from 1989. Standard Life, The National Trust for Scotland, Paintings in Hospitals Scotland and East and Midlothian Art Fund hold examples.
