Abstract painter and sculptor and teacher, born in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He studied at Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten en Kunstnieverheid, Arnhem, 1953–5; Eindhoven School of Art, 1955–61; Orban School of Art, Sydney, Australia, 1957–9, then Canberra School of Art, 1959–61. He went on to be associate senior lecturer at Middlesex Polytechnic, later University, from 1972–03, Anish Kapoor and Langlands & Bell among his students, also visiting other colleges. De Goede showed with Young Contemporaries in Sydney, 1966, followed by extensive mixed exhibitions in Britain and abroad, including Five Dutch Artists, Serpentine Gallery, 1974; Arts Council Collection, Design Centre, 1989; and Unilever Collection, International Art Fair, Olympia, 1991.
