Painter and teacher, born in London, who was educated at St Paul’s School. Studied art at Royal Academy Schools, 1936–40, under Sir Walter Westley Russell after a period at Hammersmith Art School. Exhibited RA and RBA, of which he was a member. Lived Lancing, Sussex, where he joined Brighton Arts Club, later living in Old Woodstock, Oxfordshire.
