Painter especially of architectural and historical subjects, and teacher, his work could combine accuracy and mischief. Born in Surrey, Parker-Crook spent his formative years in Southport, Lancashire, settling in Gloucestershire from 1982. He studied at Harris College, Preston; Winchester School of Art; and Leeds College of Art. Parker-Crook taught part-time at York School of Art and Ashville College, Harrogate. He showed at the RA Summer Exhibition, RWA, RWS; in the provinces, including Brian Sinfield Gallery, Burford; and in France and Germany. In 1998 Parker-Crook worked on a series of commissioned paintings of the photographer, designer, painter and writer Cecil Beaton’s last home. Cheltenham Art Gallery held a touring retrospective, 1999.
