Painter, sculptor and teacher, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who was educated at Belfast Royal Academy, Stranmillis College and Queen’s University. From 1970–97 taught at secondary schools, also at Lisburn Institute and School of Adult and Community Education. Exhibited in group shows, from 1974 at RUA, where in 1988 he was runner-up for the Wellington Park Hotel Award; also at Orchard Gallery, Londonderry, 1996; and 1997 Summer Exhibition at Tom Caldwell Gallery, Belfast, which gave Corkey solo exhibitions in 1998, 2000 and 2003. Northern Ireland’s Department of the Environment and Ulster Arts Club hold examples.
