Painter notable for his landscapes and seascapes of England, which he travelled widely. He was born in Olney, Buckinghamshire, and worked as a draughtsman in industry, being elected to RBA aged 22. Ebb Tide, Whitby and Chalk Cliffs at Dover are among his main works. Showed at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, RA, RCamA and RI and had work bought by Oldham Corporation. In 1999, The Burton Art Gallery & Museum, Bideford, put on a Coop show: The Complete Collection. The co-founder’s bequest to the Gallery. Lived latterly in Northam, Devon.
