Artist in oil and other media, born in Monton, Eccles, Manchester. She studied privately with L S Lowry; in Hamburg, 1946; at Southampton College of Art, 1960–8; Ruskin School, Oxford, print workshop, 1975; gaining her bachelor’s degree, Southampton, 1982. The University there holds her work. Mixed exhibitions included Southampton City Art Gallery, 1963–76; Free Painters and Sculptors, 1974–6; Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester, 1978; and Chalk Farm Gallery, 1981–2. Had a solo show at Hamwic Gallery, Southampton, 1970, later ones including Hiscock Gallery, Southsea, 1977, and The First Gallery, Bitterne, which she ran, 1989. Lived in Bitterne, Southampton.
