Painter, teacher and writer, born in Blackburn, Lancashire. He studied at Leeds Polytechnic, graduating with honours in fine art. Went on to teach at Chesterfield College of Art and to write often for The Guardian. Solo shows included Leeds Polytechnic Gallery, 1975; Bede Gallery, Jarrow, 1982; Mappin Art Gallery, Sheffield, 1987; and Chesterfield Arts Centre, 1990. Clark’s abstract work was shown in mixed exhibitions in Spain, Poland and Britain, and in 1991 he shared a three-man show at Woodlands Art Gallery. Lived in Sheffield, Yorkshire.
