Figure and memorial sculptor, born in Galashiels, Selkirkshire, who studied at Glasgow School of Art and Royal Academy Schools, winning a Gold Medal and travelling scholarship. He was elected a fellow of RBS and his figure of King Robert the Bruce, at gateway of Edinburgh Castle, and his Galashiels war memorial, Border Chivalry, are illustrated in R B S: Modern British Sculpture, published in 1939. Showed at RA, RSA and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. Lived in London.
