Painter, notably of landscape, born in Glasgow. She studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1975–80, then at Royal College of Art, 1980–3. Among her awards were the Duncan of Drumfork Travelling Scholarship, in 1978; an Adam Bruce Thomson Award from RSA and a Scottish Education Travelling Scholarship, in 1979; the Farquahar Reid Award, in 1980; and the John Minton Award, in 1983. Cattrell took part in a number of group shows, including SSA, RA and the Whitechapel Open. Had a solo exhibition at Beaux Arts, Bath, 1992, her Northern Arts-supported touring show Coast including Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, 1999.
