Abstract painter and teacher, born in Derby, attending its College of Art, 1956–8, then Royal College of Art, 1958–61. Then lived in Nottingham and taught at its College of Art. Showed with Young Contemporaries, AIA Gallery and was included in 1965 John Moores Liverpool Exhibition. In 1967 Cartwright’s oil on canvas Three was included in Survey ’67 Abstract Painters at Camden Arts Centre and it was taken into the Arts Council collection.
