Painter, restorer and teacher, related to the painter and collector David Carr, who graduated in painting from the Slade School of Fine Art, where she also obtained her postgraduate higher diploma in painting. Notable teachers were Euan Uglow, who became a friend and was an important stylistic influence, and Norman Norris. She lived in Italy, 1984–5 and 1991–3, painting and restoring frescoes. Taught at the Slade, Royal College of Art and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art. Mixed shows included A Second Perspective, Leighton House, 1991; Christmas Exhibition, New Academy Gallery, 1993; RP, 1995; Four Man Painting Show, Slade, 1997; The Importance of Drawing, Royal Museum & Art Gallery, Canterbury, 1999; and Fresh Paint 2, MacLean Fine Art, 2002.
