Painter, mainly of landscapes in oil, and teacher of art, born in Keelby, Lincolnshire, who attended St John’s College, York. He studied at Grimsby Art School and under Herbert Rollett. Was a member of North Lincolnshire Art Society and of Lincolnshire Artists’ Society, also exhibiting at RA, RCamA RBA, RHA, RBSA, NS, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and at Paris Salon. His main works included On the Cornish Coast, Still Grinding and Near Lizard Point. Usher Gallery, Lincoln, holds his work. For many years lived at Waltham, Lincolnshire, latterly at Horsforth, Yorkshire.
