Painter and photographer, notable for portraits, born in the Southsea area, Hampshire, her father a bank cashier. During World War II she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, commissioned acting junior commander, involved partly in photography at an anti-aircraft battery. After the war she studied art, industrial design and drawing. Worked at a studio in llford for two years, then opened her own photographic studio in Fareham, Hampshire. After marrying Wing-Commander George Potter in 1959 she resigned as a technical illustrator for the civil service and moved to Bushey, Hertfordshire, where she set up studio at home and concentrated on portraits.
