Sculptor in various materials of animals, birds and human figures; teacher. After six years in Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art and Hammersmith School of Art until 1961, with a large family to support Broderick for the next 20 years was an historical and educational illustrator and painter and teacher. Began sculpting full-time in 1981. Showed at RWA, RBA and RA. Had one-man show at Belgrave Gallery, 1979; Otter Trust, Bungay, 1982; Manor Gallery, Royston, 1986; Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, 1992; and in the same year at Gallery An Talla Dearg, Isle of Skye, the island which was the source of much of his inspiration. Commissioned work included Madonna and Child, All Saints, Weston-super-Mare; The Swimming Otter, The Otter Trust, Earsham; and Teko – The Swimming Otter, Clan Donald Centre, Armadale.
