Painter, born in Fareham, Hampshire, who studied at Chelsea College of Art, 1988–92, teachers including Helen Chadwick, and Slade School of Fine Art, 1992–4, where “I was unhappy”. Her figurative, painterly pictures were usually made over sustained periods, “change the whole time and I do a lot of scraping off”. She admired Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Ingres and Goya. Exhibitions included The Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries, 1991; BP Portrait Award at National Portrait Gallery and Royal Over-Seas League Open, both 1992; Fresh Art, Business Design Centre, 1994; and In the Looking Glass, Usher Gallery, Lincoln, and tour, 1996–7. Lived in London.
