Painter and teacher who studied fine art at Newcastle University where he eventually taught, also being a visiting lecturer elsewhere. Won a Granada Fellowship in Painting at York University. His group exhibitions included John Moores Exhibition, Liverpool, 1978, where he was a prizewinner; Surfaces at Postgraduate Gallery, Hull, 1979; Centrum Beeldende Kunst, Groningen, Netherlands, 1988; and the Newcastle Group show The Northern Lights, DLI Museum & Arts Centre, Durham, and tour, 1990. Solo exhibitions included a series at Anne Berthoud Gallery from 1981. Arts Council, British Council and Contemporary Art Society hold his work. Lived in Newcastle.
