Paul Brewer (b.1946)

Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru / The National Library of Wales
Photographer and draughtsman whose methods included photo-mechanical printmaking. He was born and based in Cardiff, from 1972 having a studio there. Studied at Newport College of Art, 1965–9; from 1972–3 was at University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology; from 1973–4 at Cardiff College of Art’s art education department. Brewer won a series of WAC Awards and was in its collection, also in National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, and Newport Museum and Art Gallery. Exhibited widely in Wales, including WAC tour of Recent Purchases by CASW in 1979, and had a series of solo shows, including Oriel, Cardiff, 1981.
