Artist who was born and lived in London, who completed a foundation course at St Martin’s School of Art, but opted to read English at Cambridge University. Although working in a responsible job, he was prolific as an artist, as shown in his solo exhibition at Boundary Gallery, 1997. Breuer-Weil produced autobiographical paintings and drawings; landscapes, often tiny, with an abstract, dreamlike quality; and sculptures, based mainly on the male figure, made from smashed rocks which were reassembled. In 2001, Breuer-Weil’s The Project, a cycle of large canvases exploring the human condition, was shown at Roundhouse.
