Artist especially notable for cast glass and structures in glass and stone, also some graphic works. Bray was an hon. fellow of the University of Sunderland and a fellow of the Society of Glass Technology. His A Dictionary of Glass, Materials and Techniques was published in 1995, Ceramics and Glass. A Basic Technology in 2000. Took part in numerous group exhibitions internationally, solo shows including Sunderland University; Invetro Galerie, Hanover, Germany; Galerie HD Nick, Aubais, France; 639 Gallery, Edinburgh; Fountain Fine Arts, Llandeilo; Glass Designs, Bath; Salford Art Gallery; Tullie House, Carlisle; The Customs House Gallery, South Shields; and in The Sculpture Show, Thompson’s Marylebone, 2003. His work was in many international collections, including Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead; Glasmuseum, Ebeltoft, Denmark; Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh; Corning Museum of Glass, New York, America; Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow; and Ulster Museum, Belfast.
