Illustrator, printmaker, commercial artist and painter, born and lived in London. After attending St Felix School in Southwold, between 1926–30 she studied at Central School of Arts and Crafts under John Farleigh, in Italy, at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, and in France. For 30 years she freelanced, Imperial Chemical Industries, Radio Times and The Studio using her work. Showed with SWA, Hampstead Artists’ Council, Arts Council and abroad. Her instructional book The Way of Wood Engraving was published in 1953. Among books illustrated by her were John Keats’ Poems, 1950, and Oscar Wilde’s Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, 1954.
