Sculptor, painter and draughtsman who studied at West of England College of Art, Bristol, gaining a diploma with first-class honours, and an art teacher’s diploma. She travelled in Italy, studying painting and sculpture at Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci, Perugia. In 1981 was elected a brother of the Art Workers’ Guild. Boothby worked in fine hardwoods, direction of the grain relating to carefully developed abstracted forms. Italian historic urban architecture was a constant influence on her paintings and drawings, which were also abstracted. Group shows included Loggia Gallery from 1981. From 1965 held regular open studio exhibitions in west London. Others included William Penn House, 1968; University of Surrey, 1970; Ice House Gallery, 1982; Palazzo del Priori, Perugia, 1989; and Quaker Gallery, 1994.
