Sculptor and teacher, born in Netherlands. As a Jew he spent three years in Belsen concentration camp, in Germany, in World War II. Moved to Britain with his mother and attended Hornsey College of Art, 1956–60. From 1967–8 was at University of London Institute of Education, gaining a teaching certificate with distinction. Participated in many group exhibitions, including Four Sculptors at Heal’s Art Gallery, 1978; Wapping Artists, 1984; RA Summer Exhibition from 1986; Stamford Sculpture Park, Stamford, Connecticut, 1988; RBS at RWA Gallery, Bristol, 1989; and The Sculpture Project, Ardingly, Sussex, 1990. Took part in Sculpture at Canterbury, 1991. Solo exhibitions included Ben Uri Gallery, 1980; Alwin Gallery, 1985; sponsored exhibition with support from Arts Council and Whitechapel Art Gallery, 1989, Blains Fine Art, 1999; and The Chambers Gallery, 2005.
