Painter, printmaker, draughtsman and teacher, born in Durham, who studied at Sunderland Polytechnic, 1970–1, Stourbridge College of Art, 1971–4, and Reading University, 1974–6. In 1976–8 he had a junior fellowship in painting at Cardiff College of Art, gained a WAC award and became senior lecturer at Wimbledon School of Art. Exhibitions included Whitechapel Open, Francis Graham-Dixon Gallery and he won a prize in John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1993–4. Had a solo show at Byam Shaw, 1993; later ones including Kapil Jariwala Gallery, 1998; was Artist of the Day at Flowers East, chosen by Carol Robertson, 1999, and shared a show there with Eduardo Paolozzi, 2000; and a first solo exhibition of prints and monoprints, Flowers East, 2001.
