Artist in a variety of styles, remembered in Hove, Sussex, where he had a studio, as a character and great self-publicist. Bindon worked variously as an undertaker, as a display artist and graphic designer for commercial enterprises in the Brighton area, as a sometimes cheeky muralist and teacher. He directed The Hove Art Club and conducted lively lecture tours in Europe and the Far East. Painted in Sussex and on the continent and Mediterranean area, in 1949 publishing Diary of an Artist about his travels. Showed locally, including Sussex County Arts Club and Hove Museum & Art Gallery, where he had a solo exhibition in 1950. Hove holds his atmospheric acrylic on board St John’s Church, Palmeira Square, and an archive of material on Bindon’s work and life.
