Painter and teacher, born in Liverpool. She studied at Southport, Liverpool and Royal College of Art 1962–71. Teaching included Lanchester Polytechnic, Coventry, 1971–81; St Martin’s School of Art, 1976–96; Kingston Polytechnic, 1987–90; and New Richmond School of Art, Richmond, 1994–7, near where she lived in Twickenham, Middlesex. Prizes and awards included Prize for Europe (Bronze Medal), Ostend, Belgium, 1973; Lina Garnard Memorial Prize, Farnham, 1980; Great London Arts Association Award, 1981; Waterman’s Open 85, First Prize Winner, 1985; and Picker Fellow, Kingston Polytechnic, 1987. Group exhibitions included RA Summer Exhibition, and solo shows a retrospective at Hotbath Gallery, City of Bath College, 1999. RA and Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport, hold examples.
