Painter, born in Dover, Kent, who enjoyed experimenting with media and techniques, exploring textures and light to produce semi-abstract images. He attended West Surrey College of Art and Design followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy Schools. Exhibited at Royal Festival Hall, many London and provincial galleries and was included in a four-artist show at The Linda Blackstone Gallery, Pinner, 2001. He was an Artist of the Month at Rowley Gallery and was included in a three-artist show at The Wykeham Gallery, Stockbridge, both in 2003. Among Bernard’s awards were the Stowells Trophy and Elizabeth Greenshields, Silver Longboat and Laing Awards. Elected RI in 1997.
