Printmaker, painter and teacher, born in London, who gained a fine art diploma from Slade School of Fine Art, 1953, then spent a year etching there under John Buckland-Wright. After six months in Italy and Greece she worked as a freelance illustrator, then as an art editor in publishing. In 1962 Beaver went with her husband to teach in western Kenya, began painting and taught herself woodblock printing, then for 10 years after returning to England showed seriously and in 1972 bought a press and began etching again. By 1977 big editions of her prints were being regularly published by Christie’s Contemporary Art and Pallas Gallery. In 1978 she set up her own studio in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Took part in many mixed exhibitions in Britain and abroad, including RE, RA, ICA and RWA.
