Painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Brighton, Sussex, full name Leslie Robert Baxter. He was apprenticed as an engraver, 1910–15, then studied under Louis Ginnett at Brighton School of Art, 1919–24. Held a series of teaching posts, latterly at Hammersmith College of Art and Building. Showed at RA, AIA, London Gallery and in Paris and had a one-man show at Mayor Gallery in 1948. Lived in London.
