Sculptor and environmental artist, born in Glasgow, who participated in the inaugural Bowieart exhibition BLOC at County Hall Gallery in 2005. There, it was said, “her Dream of the Northern Lights replicates the aurora borealis in miniature, which will be contained in a home-made bell jar.” Barker graduated with honours in fine art, environmental art, from Glasgow School of Art, 1998–01, gaining her fine art master’s there, 2002–4. In 2004 she also attended Glasgow Sculpture Studios for a wood-carving masterclass, awarded for professional development. Exhibitions included Myth, The White Space, Glasgow, 2000; Mythologies: Domestic Landscape, Transmission Gallery, Glasgow, 2001; Something Haptic: Souter Lighthouse, Project Rooms Gallery, Glasgow, 2002; Looking for Submarines, Scotland 2003, Bezalel Academy, Bezalel, Israel, 2003; and Siege and Counter Siege, Hotel Mariakapel, Hoorn, Netherlands, 2004.
