Painter, illustrator and writer of children’s books, born in Croydon. After private education she was largely self-taught as an artist, although she did study part-time at Croydon School of Art and she continued to live in the town for a while, then in Storrington, Sussex. Although she exhibited SWA, RI and elsewhere, she was principally known for her illustrations of fairy children, as in Flower Fairies of the Spring, 1923, and Flower Fairies of the Wayside, 1948. Also did stained glass windows, her work featuring in St Andrew’s Church, Croydon, and St George’s Church at Waddon. Signed work CMB.
