Sculptor and craftsman in various materials, born in Leicester, to which he eventually returned, living at Newtown Linford. Studied at Leicester College of Art, the Royal College of Art and in Paris, winning a number of medals. He went on to become head of sculpture at Aberdeen College of Art. Banbury showed at RA, RSA, elsewhere in Scotland and in Leicester. Arbroath Public Library and Forfar Academy obtained his work. Banbury was an honorary member of RBS.
